Seltana was born into more trouble than most adults would be able to handle. She's actually a different species than her mother and everyone else in the world, and no one knows how it happened. After being sheltered from the truth for years, she's getting old enough to get out and find out just what she's facing.

Sieale is Selta and Zinny's older brother by several years. As the crown must be passed to a female, he never faced as much pressure for his status and is much more free to choose his own life than either of his sisters will ever be. Since a very young age, he's almost idolized Julius- and keeps his bangs cut in a similar style.

Julius is Sie & Sel's Care taker. His identical twin, Hesychius, is head of a religion- and they both pretend they aren't related to the other. The easiest way to tell Juls from Hes is that Hes always wears dark grey robes, while Juls tends towards very bright clothing. Juls's hair is also longer and shinier.

Hesychius is the head of Religion. While this would suggest a lot of power, he's actually more restricted by it. Hes is not only the first male to hold his position, he started at the second youngest age of anyone to start. He spends too much of his time worrying that the world is judging him.

(Core-uh)

Cora is the current queen. Although the monarchy has never held total power- the title still affords her a level of power and a position on the Counsel which controls the race. Since Selta's birth, she has spent a great deal of time and energy to keep her daughter safe. Doing this made it so she had to surrender her other daughter, Enzessin, a decision which has weighed on her all too heavily.

(Ehn-zess-in)

Enzessin has gotten very little screen time in the comic to date. She is Selta's twin sister, who was taken to be raised by Hesychius- to Cora's distress. Many believe that Zinny is the true heir and should become queen when Cora dies, but one can only guess what kind of queen anyone raised by Hesychius would be.
